Classic, old school LP definitely has a groove throughout that's about as deep as the Marianas Trench. The title track is solid and really comes to life in vinyl, but tracks such as "And I Do Just What I Want" and "Have Mercy Baby" are gems that COULD have been hits, if only AM radio at that time had larger playlists. Top-50 anyone?

Very cool and relaxing compilation of Brilian bossa nova and jazz tracks from the 1960s. They were compiled by Nicola Conte and it's easy to see how these tracks have influenced his own work.

Probably the best singer working in the country/roots/americana categories right now. Producer Steve Berlin brought out a lot of emotion in Malo's voice, plus the song selection is more varied than on previous albums.

I wasn't knocked out by this guy right away but after about three albums, his music is really growing on me. His writing offers a very fresh POV, with catchy melodic hooks that serve White's lyrics well.

Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster

I ran across a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster parked on a Hollywood side street recently. I stopped to shoot a picture and the owner happened by - the car had been in his family since new and he was in the process of deciding whether to restore it to concourse condition and sell it, or to leave it cosmetically as-is and drive it around. It sounded as if he was going to opt for the latter choice.
