One sees some interesting cars with some inspired paint jobs while cruising up and down PCH but this BMW with all its badges blocked out drew my attention around the end of February. Jonny Lieberman recently spied a similar car in Hollywood and reported in Motor Trend that it's the 2012 BMW M5. It was loud, fast, and very in control as it headed down the hill toward Webb Way, the hill where the LA County Sheriffs usually sit with their radar guns. No such problem that afternoon though.
I'm not sure that I like the flush look of the quad exhaust pipes but it's not like I'm in the market to lay out the kind of serious kale that'll be necessary to own (much less lease) one of these. I'd also prefer a two-door, given my druthers, and what the heck, if I were the designer, instead of the quad tail pipes, how about one big one in the center of the rear bumper to appeal to fans of the Pagani-Zonda? The black and white camo job above would also be kinda interesting to have on the entire car, not just on the new bits.
The car on the pic, with that paint job, kinda resembles how a laptop or a mobile phone is designed. But it quite looks good on the car. Car dealers should have awesomely-designed cars like this, once in a while.

Simon, I quite agree with you - I'm in the process of restoring a 1973 Volvo 1800ES and am thinking about going with just this sort of paint job on it. Finding someone who can do it as well as the BMW guys do might be a problem, but I'm a few months (at least) away from needing to make that sort of decision.
